Salary: 18-23/hr (depending on role & experience)

About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 1:1 Literacy & Numeracy Support Tutor to provide personalised support for learners who require additional assistance in developing their English and Maths skills. The successful candidate will work closely with individual learners, helping them build confidence, improve attainment, and achieve their educational goals. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting learners with SEND, learning difficulties, or those who need targeted intervention to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging one-to-one literacy and numeracy support sessions.
- Support learners with reading, writing, spelling, comprehension, and mathematical skills.
- Adapt learning materials and teaching approaches to meet individual learner needs.
- Assist learners in achieving Functional Skills, GCSE, or personalised learning targets.
- Monitor and record learner progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff.
- Help learners develop confidence, independence, and effective study skills.
- Support learners with organisation, motivation, and classroom engagement.
- Contribute to EHCP outcomes and individual learning plans where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, Learning Support Assistants, and other professionals.
- Good standard of education, including GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
- Experience supporting literacy and numeracy development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships and motivate learners.
- Patient, supportive, and learner‑centred approach.
- Experience working with learners with SEND, learning difficulties, or additional support needs.
- Knowledge of Functional Skills and GCSE English and Maths.
- Teaching, tutoring, learning support, or education‑related qualifications.
- Experience with in schools, colleges, alternative provision, or training environments.
