Smart Teachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a highly supportive and inclusive secondary school in East London from September.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist provision supporting pupils with complex communication and sensory needs, including pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a highly personalised curriculum designed to meet the individual needs of learners who are working at Key Stage 1 level or below.
The role would suit a teacher with experience of early language acquisition, sensory learning approaches and communication-focused interventions. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects while supporting pupils' communication, social and emotional development.

Successful Candidate Will- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Have experience working with pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Have experience supporting early language acquisition, including working with non‑verbal pupils
- Demonstrate knowledge or experience of speech and language interventions, including Colourful Semantics and the use of Core Boards
- Have experience developing and delivering sensory‑based learning opportunities
- Be confident adapting learning for pupils working at Key Stage 1 level or below
- Have experience tracking pupil progress and using assessment effectively to inform planning
- Be able to contribute to curriculum development for pupils with high‑level sensory and communication needs
- Be confident teaching across a range of curriculum areas
- Demonstrate excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills
- Be passionate about supporting pupils with complex learning needs to achieve their full potential
- Main Scale / Upper Pay Scale salary
- SEN Allowance
