Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping pupils overcome behavioural barriers to learning? A supportive and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated SEN Behaviour Mentor to join their team. Working through our education recruitment agency, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them develop positive behaviours, improve emotional regulation, and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.
Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with SEND and behavioural needs.
- Work closely with children who may display challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, or communication difficulties.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that promote engagement and emotional wellbeing.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and individual support plans.
- Support pupils in developing social skills, resilience, self‑confidence, and emotional regulation.
- Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Liaise with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
- Monitor progress and contribute to behaviour and intervention records.
- Have experience working with children or young people in schools, youth settings, mentoring programmes, sports coaching, or similar environments.
- Have a strong interest in supporting pupils with SEND and behavioural needs.
- Are patient, resilient, empathetic, and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Possess excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Are committed to helping pupils achieve positive outcomes.
- Experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, or challenging behaviour is desirable but not essential.
