As a Graduate SEMH, Autism & Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support, helping them develop positive relationships, regulate their emotions and engage successfully in learning.

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with SEMH needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and behavioural challenges.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils to support emotional wellbeing and engagement.
• Implement behaviour support strategies under the guidance of the SENCO and class teacher.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, social skills development and classroom participation.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with personalised interventions and nurture‑based activities.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

We are looking for graduates who:

• Hold a degree in Psychology, Education, Criminology, Sociology, Health & Social Care, or a related field.
• Have experience working with children or young people through schools, tutoring, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching or voluntary settings.
• Have a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs.
• Demonstrate resilience, patience, empathy and strong communication skills.
• Are considering a long‑term career within education, mental health or child development.
• Previous experience supporting SEMH, Autism or behavioural needs is advantageous but not essential.
