This is an excellent opportunity to support upper Key Stage 2 pupils as they develop the academic, social and independence skills needed for a successful transition to secondary school.

The Role
Provide 1:1 and small group support for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils with Autism (ASC).
Assist pupils in accessing a personalised curriculum tailored to their individual learning needs and EHCP targets.
Support communication, emotional regulation, executive functioning and social skills.
Implement structured routines, visual supports and positive behaviour strategies to help pupils engage in learning.
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to deliver targeted interventions and monitor progress.
Promote independence, confidence and preparation for the transition to secondary education.
Support personal care where required.

The Ideal Candidate
Experience supporting children with Autism or other Special Educational Needs in a school, care or similar setting.
A calm, patient and resilient approach with excellent communication skills.
Understanding of Key Stage 2 and the needs of pupils preparing for secondary school is desirable.
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous but not essential.
Graduates in Psychology, Education or related subjects are encouraged to apply.

What the School Offers
A well-established and supportive Autism Resource Base.
Experienced SEN leadership and collaborative staff team.
Ongoing specialist training and professional development.
Inclusive school culture with excellent resources.
Long-term role with the opportunity to secure a permanent position.
