Position: EFL Teacher (Fixed Term Summer Contract) 2026
Location: Greater London

Overview

EFL Teacher for a fixed-term Summer Contract 2026 at ALPADIA.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching:
    Ensure all language tuition is appropriate to a camp environment and in line with the ALPADIA curriculum; demonstrate sound knowledge of English and its linguistic systems; provide models of spoken and written English.
  • Plan and deliver well-planned, engaging lessons aligned with course objectives and learning needs; adapt the syllabus to meet the needs of students at class and individual levels.
  • Use a variety of teaching techniques and activities; provide opportunities for differentiation and production; maximise learning using ALPADIA resources.
  • Foster a positive learning atmosphere, engage students, provide timely feedback, and assess learning through appropriate activities.
  • Encourage the use of the target language in classrooms and bring authentic resources into lessons where appropriate.
  • Manage the classroom environment to support safe, productive learning; maintain student discipline and welfare and report issues to the Camp Manager or Academic Manager as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Camp Manager and Academic Manager to resolve student, agent, parent or stakeholder questions or concerns.
General Responsibilities
  • Represent ALPADIA professionally and provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Understand procedural documents and ALPADIA policies; be familiar with British Council inspection criteria relevant to the department; participate in staff meetings and weekly professional development sessions.
  • Engage in reflective teaching, participate in developmental observation, and maintain an open-door classroom policy.
  • Prepare lesson plans when requested for observations or professional development; arrive on time for lessons; complete attendance and report absences according to camp procedures.
  • Assist with placement testing as required; read, understand and sign relevant risk assessments; undertake other duties as deemed necessary by line management.
  • Qualifications:

    TEFLI status (examples: CELTA, Trinity Cert. TESOL or equivalent); TEFLQ status (examples: DELTA, Dip. TESOL or equivalent); prior EFL teaching experience; experience teaching in summer camps or similar contexts; experience with teaching young learners; strong IT skills including MS Office.
  • Other: ability to find and present solutions, use initiative, work well in a team, multitask, and adapt to a fast-paced camp environment; understanding of child protection and safeguarding policies.
