About the role

Hammersmith & Fulham is a leading local authority committed to high quality education. We are seeking a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QToD) to support children and young people with hearing impairment, aged 0‑25, across maintained and independent educational settings. The role requires strong relationships with schools, early years providers and post‑16 institutions to deliver specialist interventions that promote equal access to learning and enable students to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of deaf children and young people, tailoring education plans and interventions to individual needs.
  • Collaborate with primary, secondary, early years and post‑16 providers to integrate specialist support within mainstream provision.
  • Support families by providing guidance and resources to help them understand and manage their child’s communication needs.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team, including other sensory specialists, to ensure consistent, high‑quality support.
  • Lead early intervention efforts and promote inclusion across all sectors of education within the council area.
