Lunchtime Cover Assistant (SEND School)
Location:
Sutton, Greater London.
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 11am–2pm (Term Time Only).
Start date:
Tuesday 1st September.
Salary:
From £14.25 per hour.
- Supervise pupils during lunchtime in the dining hall, playground and other designated areas.
- Support pupils with eating, drinking and developing independent life skills where appropriate.
- Encourage positive social interaction and inclusive play.
- Support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism and communication needs.
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing and happiness of all pupils during break and lunchtime periods.
- Assist with transitions to and from lunch and support classroom staff when required.
- Experienced supporting children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs or complex learning needs.
- Kind, patient and compassionate.
- Calm, resilient and able to remain positive in a busy school environment.
- A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to work effectively as part of a supportive team.
- Previous experience working in a school, childcare or care setting is desirable.
- Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
