Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to overcome barriers to education?
New Chapter Tuition is seeking a dedicated and resilient Learning Mentor to provide full-time 1:1 support for a young person with an EHCP for SEMH, alongside diagnoses of Autism and ADHD.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who can build meaningful relationships, support emotional regulation, advocate for a young person's needs, and help them engage positively in education.
The RoleAs a Learning Mentor, you will:
- Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day
- Build a positive, trusting and professional relationship
- Support emotional regulation and engagement in learning
- Use effective de-escalation and behaviour support strategies
- Assess and manage risk appropriately
- Advocate for the young person's needs and wellbeing
- Liaise effectively with school staff, families and external professionals
- Complete daily logs and progress records
- Promote attendance, participation and positive outcomes

- Learning Mentor roles
- Youth Work
- Youth Offending Services
- Behaviour Support
- Sports Coaching
- Teaching Assistant positions
- Alternative Provision settings
- Outreach Work
- Psychology Graduates with relevant experience
- Criminology Graduates with relevant experience
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
- Understanding of SEMH, Autism and/or ADHD
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence managing challenging situations and behaviours
- Trauma-informed approach to supporting young people
- Ability to complete accurate records and reports
- Enhanced Child and Adult Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to Work in the UK
