£95 - £110 per day

Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to overcome barriers to education?

New Chapter Tuition is seeking a dedicated and resilient Learning Mentor to provide full-time 1:1 support for a young person with an EHCP for SEMH, alongside diagnoses of Autism and ADHD.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who can build meaningful relationships, support emotional regulation, advocate for a young person's needs, and help them engage positively in education.

The Role

As a Learning Mentor, you will:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Build a positive, trusting and professional relationship
  • Support emotional regulation and engagement in learning
  • Use effective de-escalation and behaviour support strategies
  • Assess and manage risk appropriately
  • Advocate for the young person's needs and wellbeing
  • Liaise effectively with school staff, families and external professionals
  • Complete daily logs and progress records
  • Promote attendance, participation and positive outcomes

  • Psychology Graduates with relevant experience
  • Criminology Graduates with relevant experience
Essential Requirements
  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
  • Understanding of SEMH, Autism and/or ADHD
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence managing challenging situations and behaviours
  • Trauma-informed approach to supporting young people
  • Ability to complete accurate records and reports
  • Enhanced Child and Adult Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to Work in the UK
