Role Overview

This pivotal role involves leading and delivering inspiring media and film education to a diverse student body. You will play a key part in shaping our curriculum, supporting student development, and driving innovation within the department. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic lecturer who can bring industry insight and academic rigour to our courses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lectures, workshops, and tutorials in media and film studies.
  • Develop and update curriculum content to reflect current industry trends and academic standards.
  • Supervise and mentor students, providing academic and career guidance.
  • Assess student work, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and contribute to departmental initiatives.
  • Participate in course development, quality assurance processes, and accreditation activities.
  • Engage with local media and film industries to create opportunities for student placements and projects.
  • Contribute to research, scholarship, and professional development relevant to media and film disciplines.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A degree in Media, Videography, Film, or a closely related subject; a postgraduate qualification is desirable.
  • Proven teaching experience in further or higher education, ideally within media, videography or film studies.
  • Strong knowledge of current media, videography and film industry practices and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Experience in curriculum design and assessment within an educational setting.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and educational excellence.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
