Lecturer – Specialist Further Education
Location: Bromley, South East London
Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established specialist further education provider in Bromley seeking an experienced and passionate Lecturer to join their dedicated team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding educator who is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting young people with additional and complex learning needs to achieve their full potential.
The RoleAs a Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated teaching that meets the individual needs of students while promoting independence, confidence and positive outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality, inclusive lessons.
- Assessing, monitoring and recording student progress against personalized learning goals and EHCP outcomes.
- Leading and managing a team of Learning Support Assistants and Assistant Lecturers.
- Working collaboratively with therapists, families and other professionals to support students’ learning and development.
- Developing differentiated learning programmed tailored to individual needs.
- Contributing to curriculum development and continuous quality improvement.
- Supporting safeguarding, student wellbeing and an inclusive learning environment.
- Participating in professional development and performance management activities.
To be successful, you will have:
- A degree or equivalent professional qualification.
- A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE or Certificate in Education).
- A minimum of five years’ experience working with children or young people with additional and complex needs.
- Experience of planning and delivering differentiated learning.
- Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student-centered learning.
- The ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of support staff.
Experience with in specialist education, SEND settings or further education is highly desirable. A specialist SEND qualification, experience leading teams and knowledge of assistive technology would also be advantageous.
