This Literacy Intervention Assistant opportunity in Lewisham offers the chance to join a high‑achieving secondary school where reading and literacy are at the heart of academic success.

As a Literacy Intervention Assistant, you'll work closely with the English department to support pupils who require additional help with reading comprehension, vocabulary development and written communication. Through structured interventions and 1:1 support, you'll play a key role in helping pupils develop the literacy skills needed to succeed across the curriculum.

This role is particularly suited to graduates considering a career in teaching, Speech & Language Therapy or Educational Psychology.

Full Academic Year | £500–£550 per week

• Deliver evidence‑based literacy interventions across KS3 and KS4
• Work alongside an experienced English department with excellent GCSE outcomes
• Receive mentoring from experienced teachers and literacy leaders
• Gain experience using reading age assessments and intervention programmes
• Weekly CPD focused on literacy, adaptive teaching and behaviour management
• Excellent preparation for teacher training or postgraduate study
• A supportive school with a strong focus on academic achievement

• Delivering targeted literacy interventions
• Supporting pupils during English lessons

• Hold A‑Levels (or equivalent qualifications) and a BA degree
• Have excellent literacy and communication skills
