Overview

South Thames Colleges Group is looking for a Head of Inclusive Learning at Carshalton and Merton Colleges.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Additional Learning Support and commission High Needs Support for students with learning difficulties.
  • Strategically manage and operationally lead promotion, delivery, development and improvement of Additional Learning Support across mainstream provision and discrete programmes.
  • Work with Curriculum teams to meet the Preparing for Adulthood agenda for High Needs Students.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement, development and growth in line with the Group’s Strategic Plan.
  • Operationally manage all aspects of support services, ensuring high quality, efficient use of resources and flexible, student‑centred delivery.
  • Oversee NEET curriculum provision and King’s Trust programmes, implement the King’s Trust Toolkit, and provide line management to the King’s Trust Team Leader.
Qualifications
  • Degree level education and a recognised teaching qualification such as Cert Ed or a PGCE.
  • Experience leading and managing complex learning support provisions for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities within an FE College.
  • Knowledge of meeting student support needs in an FE context, including familiarity with funding mechanisms and best practice to meet Ofsted and legal regulatory requirements.
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal and prioritisation skills; ability to establish credibility with managers, understand business needs and analyse data to make informed decisions.
