PMLL is looking for Schools Outreach Officers to join its existing outreach team and support a nationwide school engagement and data collection programme during the 2026/27 academic year.
About the roleThe School Outreach Officers play a vital role in raising awareness of the Schools Printed Music Licence (SPML) and helping schools understand how copyrighted music can be used legally within classroom and extracurricular music activities. Working across an assigned geographical region (London, Birmingham & Wales), you will engage directly with schools, build relationships with key contacts and support the collection of data relating to the use of printed music under the SPML.
The role combines outreach, relationship management, stakeholder engagement and data collection, requiring a confident communicator who can work independently and build credibility with education professionals. You will research schools, identify key decision makers, arrange meetings with Heads of Music and other relevant staff, explain how the licence operates, demonstrate the PMLL online reporting portal and support schools in submitting accurate usage data.
As an ambassador for PMLL, you will also contribute to broader awareness‑raising activity across the education sector, including attending conferences, engaging with music education organisations and promoting the value and benefits of music licensing. This role would particularly suit someone with experience in education, music education, school leadership or stakeholder engagement who understands how schools operate and can confidently communicate with teaching professionals.
