Business Skills Trainer (12 Months Fixed Term)

Description

This role is ideal for individuals who combine strong leadership experience with a passion for developing others. You'll facilitate engaging leadership, management and business skills programmes that help learners build the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to succeed in today's workplace. The role aligns with industry-level titles such as Business Skills Trainer, Leadership & Management Trainer, Learning and Development Consultant, Corporate Trainer, Management Development Facilitator, Leadership Coach, or Training Consultant.

We are recruiting for two 12-month fixed-term positions. While these roles are initially fixed-term, they support a growing area of the business with exciting future opportunities.

The Role

As a Business Skills Trainer with Pearson TQ, you'll play a key role in delivering and facilitating leadership, management and professional development programmes for managers, aspiring leaders and senior professionals.

This is more than a traditional training role. You'll facilitate discussions, challenge thinking, support cohort development, coach learners, assess assignments, and contribute to the creation of innovative leadership and management programmes. You'll work with experienced professionals and leaders, drawing on your own leadership expertise to bring learning to life and create meaningful learner outcomes.

The role is predominantly remote, with occasional travel across the UK to facilitate face-to-face workshops and learning events. Most face-to-face delivery is currently in and around London, although travel to other locations may be required.

In your first six months, your focus will be on successfully completing programme mobilisation, becoming confident in programme delivery, taking ownership of learner cohorts, supporting learner success, and building strong working relationships across the team.

What You'll Own

Success in this role means learners are engaged, progressing successfully through their programmes, applying new skills confidently in the workplace, and achieving positive outcomes.

You’ll:

  • Facilitate engaging leadership, management and business skills programmes in both virtual and face-to-face environments.

  • Deliver inspiring and discussion-led learning experiences that encourage participation, reflection and real-world application.

  • Manage allocated learner cohorts, supporting learners throughout their development journey.

  • Deliver coaching sessions, learner reviews and progress discussions to support ongoing development and achievement.

  • Provide constructive, developmental and timely feedback to learners.

  • Assess and mark learner assignments and submissions in line with programme and awarding body requirements.

  • Create, review and enhance learning resources including presentations, workbooks, facilitator guides and supporting materials.

  • Contribute to the design and development of leadership, management and professional development programmes.

  • Monitor learner progress and proactively identify support needs or barriers to achievement.

  • Maintain learner records, programme documentation and administrative requirements within agreed timescales.

  • Utilise learning technologies and digital platforms to enhance the learner experience.

  • Build strong relationships with learners, employers, business partners and internal stakeholders.

  • Support continuous improvement activities by evaluating programme effectiveness and identifying opportunities for enhancement.

About You

You are an experienced leadership and management professional who is passionate about helping others develop. You bring credibility through your own leadership experience and are comfortable facilitating learning with managers, senior leaders and professional learners.

You understand that successful leadership development is about more than delivering content—you can facilitate meaningful conversations, challenge perspectives, encourage reflection and help learners apply learning within their own organisations.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Significant leadership and/or management experience gained within corporate, public sector, healthcare, education, learning and…
