This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced teacher, SENCO, inclusion lead, alternative provision specialist or education programme lead who wants to make a real difference to children and young people who need education to look a little different.
A growing education organisation is looking for a Named QTS Lead to join its Education Delivery team. The organisation provides 1:1 tuition and mentoring for children and young people who are temporarily outside mainstream education, at risk of disengagement, or in need of specialist support to access learning.
This is not a standard teaching role. You will not be delivering lessons every day. Instead, you will be the named education professional responsible for overseeing each learner’s programme from referral through to exit, making sure provision is carefully planned, professionally managed and genuinely responsive to the learner’s needs.
About the Role
As a Named QTS Lead, you will hold a varied caseload of learners, many of whom may have SEND, SEMH, social care involvement, complex needs or disrupted educational histories.
You will assess referrals, review available information, speak with families and professionals, and help design bespoke education programmes that meet each learner’s needs. This may include thinking about hours, tutor profile, learning environment, risk, engagement, reintegration and next steps.
You will act as the education lead for each learner, maintaining strong relationships with families, commissioners, tutors, mentors and wider professional networks. You will attend and contribute to meetings such as TACs, CINs, Annual Reviews, EHCP reviews and other multi-agency discussions where appropriate.
You will also support and guide tutors and mentors, reviewing progress, moderating reports and making sure programmes remain purposeful, safe and focused on outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will assess new learner referrals and identify key needs, risks, strengths and barriers to learning.
You will design bespoke education programme structures, including recommendations around hours, tutor/mentor profile, learning approach, venue and risk mitigation.
You will oversee learner progress, engagement, reporting and reintegration planning.
You will work closely with tutors and mentors, offering guidance, feedback and professional support.
You will build positive, professional relationships with parents, carers, commissioners, schools, local authorities and external professionals.
You will attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings as the named education professional.
You will manage difficult conversations calmly and professionally, always keeping the learner’s best interests at the centre.
You will ensure safeguarding concerns are acted on promptly and escalated correctly.
You will keep accurate records, monitor programme documentation and ensure information is up to date across systems.

The most important thing is that you have QTS, strong professional judgement, excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
What We’re Looking For
