UKCBC is seeking an experienced and inspirational Head of School to provide academic and operational leadership for a portfolio of higher education programmes and partnerships. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an ambitious higher education professional who is passionate about academic excellence, student success, quality enhancement, and educational innovation. Reporting to the Director of Education, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational direction, performance, and sustainability of the School while contributing to the College's wider strategic and regulatory ambitions.
Aboutthe Role
- Lead and implement the School's educational strategy in alignment with institutional priorities.
- Drive academic quality, standards, and continuous improvement across programmes.
- Monitor and improve student continuation, completion, engagement, and progression outcomes.
- Act as the senior academic liaison for awarding body and university partners.
- Lead, develop, and inspire academic teams, ensuring effective workforce planning and resource management.
- Oversee School performance, risk management, and improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to institutional governance, regulatory readiness, and strategic decision-making.
- You will also be accountable for ensuring that provision is academically rigorous, operationally effective, appropriately resourced, aligned with regulatory requirements, and focused on delivering excellent student outcomes.
We are looking for a strategic and collaborative educational leader with:
Essential Requirements- Significant leadership experience within higher education, including responsibility for academic programmes, schools, departments, or subject portfolios.
- Strong knowledge of academic quality assurance, regulatory requirements, and Office for Students (OfS) expectations.
- Experience of delivering measurable improvements in student outcomes.
- Experience of leading provision delivered through franchised, validated, or partnership arrangements.
- Educational budget management and workforce planning experience.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use performance data to drive improvement.
- Experience of leading, managing, and developing academic teams.
- Experience contributing to institutional governance and quality processes.
- Postgraduate qualification (Level 7 or above).
- Doctoral qualification or evidence of sustained scholarly activity.
- Fellowship or Senior Fellowship of Advance HE (or equivalent).
- Experience leading provision through regulatory or partner review processes.
- Strategic thinking and sound professional judgement.
- Educational credibility and academic leadership.
- Evidence-informed decision-making.
- A commitment to inclusive and applied education.
- The ability to balance academic quality, student experience, and financial sustainability.
