Deputy Head (Pastoral) - Independent School | Kensington | September Start
A prestigious and highly regarded independent school in Kensington is seeking an experienced and inspirational Deputy Head (Pastoral) to join its senior leadership team from September. This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional educational leader to play a key role in shaping and enhancing the pastoral provision within a thriving school community.
The successful candidate will be a compassionate, visible and forward‑thinking leader with a genuine passion for pupil wellbeing, safeguarding and creating an environment where every child can flourish academically, socially and emotionally.
Working closely with the Headteacher and wider leadership team, the Deputy Head (Pastoral) will lead on all aspects of pastoral care and pupil wellbeing, helping to maintain the school’s outstanding standards and nurturing ethos.
The Role:
- Full‑time Deputy Head (Pastoral) position
- September start
- Leadership opportunity within a highly respected independent school
- Strategic oversight of pastoral care, wellbeing and pupil development
- Lead on safeguarding, behaviour, welfare and student support initiatives
- Work collaboratively with staff, pupils and parents across the school community
- Contribute to the wider leadership and strategic direction of the school
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) - essential
- Significant teaching and leadership experience within UK schools
- Previous senior leadership experience, ideally with pastoral responsibility
- Extensive safeguarding and pupil welfare knowledge
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
- A warm, approachable and highly professional manner
- Passion for delivering exceptional pastoral care and pupil outcomes
