Teaching Consultancy is working with a supportive and inclusive school in Tower Hamlets to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will be working with pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), Physical Disabilities, Complex Needs, PMLD, MLD and communication difficulties.
As this role involves supporting pupils with mobility and personal care, a valid Manual Handling certificate is essential.
Essential RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you must have:
- A valid Manual Handling certificate (essential)
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a UK school
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEND, PMLD, ASC or Physical Disabilities
- Experience with personal care and mobility support is desirable
- A calm, caring and patient approach
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- The right to work in the UK
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
- Assist pupils with personal care, mobility and physical support where required.
- Use safe Manual Handling techniques in line with school policies.
- Support pupils with Autism, Complex Needs and Physical Disabilities throughout the school day.
- Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
- Work alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals to provide the best outcomes for pupils.
