The role

The School’s Reprographics department provides photocopying and printing services, primarily for the academic running of the School but also for Harrow School Enterprises Limited, the commercial arm of the School, which runs Easter and summer schools among other activities. You will provide a reprographics service to the School and work with the artworker team to prepare and publish printed materials. This includes operating printers, photocopiers and finishing equipment, maintaining sufficient levels of paper, cartridges etc.,

and assisting the artworker team to proof read and update document layouts using Adobe InDesign.

The skills

This role will suit a candidate with an extremely high standard of English and an outstanding attention to detail so that you can prepare documents without spelling or grammatical errors. Confidence with MS Office applications and general IT abilities are essential, and proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud such as InDesign and Photoshop is desirable. You will have a proven ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines when a variety of tasks is presented to you.

Your friendly, polite, confident personal attributes will be invaluable as you provide an efficient customer service and build strong professional relationships throughout the School at all levels of seniority.

The environment

Harrow School is one of the world’s most famous schools. Founded in 1572 by a local yeoman farmer, John Lyon, under a Royal Charter granted by Queen Elizabeth I, it is located on a 324-acre estate encompassing much of Harrow on the Hill in north-west London. Around 830 boys aged 13 to 18, who come from all over Britain and across the world, live in the School’s 12 boarding houses, and there are about 120 teaching staff and over 500 non-teaching staff.
