Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or Support Worker looking for a rewarding part-time role within a supportive primary school?

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a part-time, long-term position, working Wednesday to Friday, supporting children with Special Educational Needs across the school.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with previous experience supporting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, SEMH, or other additional learning needs, who are passionate about helping pupils achieve their full potential.

The Role As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and develop socially and emotionally within the classroom.

You may work on a 1:1 basis, with small intervention groups, or alongside the class teacher, depending on the needs of the pupils and the school.

Responsibilities
Provide tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.
Support children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and other SEND.
Deliver targeted interventions to support academic and personal development.
Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence.
Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum across EYFS, KS1, or KS2.
Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, teachers, and the SENCO.
Support teachers with classroom preparation and learning activities.
Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

About You To be considered for this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will have:

A minimum of one year's experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs or previous experience working as a Support Worker.
Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, or other SEND.
Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
