The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world's leading public health universities.
Library, Archive & Open Research Services (LAORS) is looking for two part-time Library Assistants to staff the Library in person in the afternoon. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to develop their skills and experience across a number of responsibilities in a wide-ranging role.
All duties are delivered on site, providing face-to-face services to users from the Enquiries Desk and support to remote users online via our Live Chat service and our Service Desk portal, and undertaking tasks and projects relating to User Services (or other areas of the service as needed). The post supports and assists all aspects of the delivery of library services, ensuring an excellent standard of customer service.
You will hold a degree or equivalent qualification along with proven experience of working successfully in a library, and demonstrable knowledge of issues relating to the delivery of library services. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise, excellent IT skills, accuracy and attention to detail, ability to take responsibility, demonstrate initiative and resolve problems, and ability to develop skills and work towards common goals as part of a team are essential.

The post holder is required to work on site in the Library 14:00-17:30 Monday-Friday, and on occasion is responsible for closing the Library at the appointed time.
The post is part-time 17.5 hours per week, 0.5 FTE and permanent.
The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 3 in the range £30,231 - £33,925 per annum pro-rata (inclusive of London Weighting).The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary "Wellbeing Days". Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
The post is based in London at LSHTM.
