Secondary SEN Teacher - Romford

A welcoming and inclusive SEN school in Romford is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Secondary SEN Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to continue into the new academic year from September 2026
.

The successful candidate will teach a small class of secondary-aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs
, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that support each student's individual learning journey. The school is looking for a passionate teacher who believes every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed in a supportive and structured learning environment.

The Role
  • Full-time Secondary SEN Teacher position.
  • Immediate start available.
  • Long-term opportunity with continuity into September 2026.
  • Full planning, preparation and assessment responsibilities.
  • Deliver engaging, creative and differentiated lessons across the secondary curriculum.
  • Adapt teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils with a range of SEN.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, the SENCO and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Monitor student progress through personalised learning targets and provide regular feedback to parents and colleagues.
  • Create a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence, independence and achievement.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching secondary-aged pupils, ideally within an SEN setting.
  • Has a good understanding of a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech and Language Needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management using positive and restorative approaches.
  • Is patient, resilient and committed to supporting young people with additional needs.
  • Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and contributes positively to the wider school community.
