SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH & SEND Provision

Teacher Active is proud to be working with a welcoming 3-form entry primary school in Ilford that is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision on a full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a nurturing environment and has experience supporting children with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs alongside a range of SEND
, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and communication needs.

• Supporting pupils within the school's specialist SEND provision.
• Building positive relationships to help pupils feel safe, engaged, and ready to learn.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and therapists to deliver tailored support.
• Using positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
• Helping create a calm, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

• Experience working with children with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach.
• A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
• A DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
