We’re currently recruiting for a Trainee Teacher to work within welcoming and supportive Primary Schools, starting in September.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for graduates who are looking to begin their journey into teaching and gain valuable classroom experience before progressing into formal teacher training. You’ll work alongside experienced teachers and school leaders, developing the skills, confidence and practical knowledge needed for a successful career in education.

As a Trainee Teacher, you’ll play an active role in supporting pupils’ learning and development while gaining first‑hand experience of life in a Primary School classroom.

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 on a one-to-one, small group and whole-class basis.

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons.

  • Deliver targeted interventions in Reading, Writing and Maths.

  • Support children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs and SEMH.

  • Develop your understanding of classroom management and behaviour strategies.

  • Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development.

  • Assist with lesson preparation, classroom resources and displays.

  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.

  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Ideal Background

We welcome applications from graduates who have completed one of the following qualifications within the last five years:

  • Primary Education Degree

  • BA Education

  • MA Education

  • MA Education (SEND and Inclusion)

  • PGCE

  • Childhood Studies

  • Early Years Childhood Studies

  • Psychology

  • Criminology

  • Other Education, Child Development or Social Science-related degrees

Requirements
  • Degree obtained within the last five years.

  • Professional employment references covering the last two years.

  • A genuine passion for pursuing a career in teaching.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A proactive, enthusiastic and adaptable approach.

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable.

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
