Your first teaching role should give you the opportunity to develop – not simply expect you to know everything from day one. Teach Now is recruiting an ambitious Early Career Teacher (ECT) for a supportive primary setting in Barnet from September. This opportunity is suited to a newly qualified teacher who wants to build strong classroom practice within a collaborative school environment.

As an Early Career Teacher (ECT), you will take responsibility for your class while benefiting from the structure, guidance and professional dialogue that are so important at the beginning of a teaching career.

You will be responsible for:
  • Planning and delivering engaging curriculum lessons
  • Creating clear routines and a positive learning culture
  • Assessing pupils and adapting teaching accordingly
  • Meeting the needs of pupils with SEND and different starting points
  • Working effectively with Teaching Assistants
  • Developing positive communication with parents
  • Contributing to planning, training and wider school activities
We are looking for candidates who:
  • Hold QTS, or expect to achieve QTS before September 2026
  • Have completed successful UK primary school placements
  • Demonstrate strong curriculum knowledge
  • Are reflective, organised and eager to develop
  • Understand safeguarding responsibilities
  • Have high expectations for every pupil

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification.

We:

  • Ensure that you will have your own dedicated consultant who will provide ongoing support and guidance.
  • Offer an excellent ‘refer a friend’ scheme that pays you £150 for each candidate you refer to us after they have worked and been paid for their first 10 days.
  • Pay in line with the Agency Worker Regulations (AWR) meaning you will be paid equally to a permanent employee.
  • Give you access to a wide range of CPD training through our in-house team of experienced senior leaders

Teach Now operates stringent safer recruitment procedures. We are committed to promoting equality and challenging discrimination.

Teach Now is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Clearance.
