PE Teacher – Greenwich

Milk Education are working in partnership with an ambitious and inclusive secondary school in Greenwich to recruit an enthusiastic PE Teacher for a September start. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate PE Teacher to join a supportive Physical Education department and inspire students to develop their sporting ability, confidence and understanding of health and wellbeing.

The successful PE Teacher will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons across a range of sports and physical activities. The school places a strong emphasis on participation, personal development, teamwork and helping students develop positive attitudes towards physical activity and healthy lifestyles.

• Planning and delivering engaging PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Working as a PE Teacher to motivate students and develop their sporting ability
• Teaching a broad range of sports and physical activities
• Supporting students to develop teamwork, leadership and communication skills
• Preparing pupils for GCSE PE or other examination courses where required
• Assessing and monitoring student progress effectively
• Supporting extracurricular clubs, fixtures and wider sporting opportunities
• Promoting positive attitudes towards exercise, health and wellbeing
• Creating a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment for all students

• UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching PE within a secondary school setting
• Strong subject knowledge across a range of sports and physical activities
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Ability to motivate students of different abilities and backgrounds
• Passion for sport, physical activity and student development
• ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply

The successful PE Teacher will become part of a collaborative department that is committed to providing students with a broad and engaging Physical Education experience. • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Right to Work in the UK
• Two professional references covering the last two years
• Recent experience teaching PE within a UK secondary school

This PE Teacher position would suit an experienced practitioner looking for their next challenge or an ECT seeking a supportive environment in which to begin their teaching career. The successful PE Teacher will have the opportunity to contribute to extracurricular activities, fixtures and the wider sporting life of the school.
