Teach Now is recruiting an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Physics Teacher for a secondary school in Barnet from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a Physics specialist who enjoys combining strong subject knowledge with engaging practical teaching. You will join a Science department teaching pupils across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to teach Physics at KS5 depending on experience and timetable requirements.
Applications are welcomed from both Early Career Teachers and experienced Physics Teachers.
- Plan and deliver engaging Physics and Science lessons across the secondary age range
- Teach GCSE Physics/Combined Science and contribute to KS3 Science
- Teach A‑Level Physics where appropriate
- Use practical investigation, modelling and real‑world examples to develop understanding
- Assess pupil progress and use assessment effectively to inform future teaching
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, participation and achievement
- Differentiate teaching to ensure pupils with different starting points can make progress
- Contribute to curriculum planning and Science department development
- Participate fully in the wider life of the school
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- A strong academic background in Physics or a closely related subject
- The ability to teach Physics confidently at GCSE level
- Strong classroom and behaviour‑management skills
- An understanding of current secondary‑school teaching, assessment and safeguarding expectations
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- The right to work in the UK
- Satisfactory professional references
- A Physics degree and experience teaching A‑Level Physics are desirable but will depend on the particular timetable
- Salary of £37,870–£56,154 (M1–UPS3), dependent on experience and pay‑scale position
