You will join the Student & Academic Services Directorate, a diverse community of professional services colleagues dedicated to supporting students throughout their journey at King’s, from enrolment through to graduation and beyond. Working closely with faculties and teams across the University, we deliver high-quality services and seamless administrative processes that enable student success and help ensure every student can thrive and achieve their potential.
The Visa & International Student Advice Teamare responsible for delivering specialist immigration advice and support services to all prospective and current international students at King’s College London.
About the role:The post will suit an individual in their early stages of a career in International Advice who is committed to supporting international students through all the transitions that make up their academic journey, ensuring a positive and enjoyable student experience of the UK and King’s College London.
This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to specialise in the support of international students, and who wish to utilise their skills and expertise in first contact query management.

This is a part-time post (21 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
Please note that the salary listed will be pro-rated accordingly.
About you:Essential criteria
- Relevant work experience and/or education:
Relevant work experience might include work in customer service, or with international clients. Relevant educational experiences might include higher education in a related discipline, professional qualifications or other training. - Up to date knowledge of the issues and pressures facing overseas students
- Experience of providing initial advice, guidance or support with the ability to identify an appropriate signpost or referral route if needed
- Proven ability to articulate complex legislative or regulatory issues to a range of audiences in a variety of contexts, using very good oral and written communication skills
- Very good listening and negotiation skills
- Experience of organising events as part of a team
- Competent IT and data entry skills including email, Microsoft Office, case management systems and using the internet as a research tool
- Proven ability to keep thorough and accurate client case notes and ensure compliance with privacy policies, professional standards, and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- Experience of working with international& EEA students in a Further Education or Higher Education setting
- Knowledge of UK legislation and regulations covering the areas of advice given as it relates to international & EEA students in Higher Education

£39,076 to £43,909 per annum pro rata, including London Weighting Allowance
