Trainee Art Teacher | North West London | September 2026A Trainee Art Teacher opportunity in North West London offers a strong route into teaching for a graduate who is serious about developing classroom experience before gaining QTS. This role would suit someone with a genuine interest in education, a resilient attitude and the confidence to work in a busy secondary school environment.
As a Trainee Art Teacher, you will join a school where the Art department is new and is being built from scratch. This means you won’t be joining an established department but will have the opportunity to play a key role in helping to develop and shape it. The school is looking for someone proactive, adaptable and resilient, who is excited by the opportunity to help build something new.
You will support pupils across KS3-KS5 while gradually taking on more teaching responsibility throughout the year.

- Ongoing mentoring and classroom support throughout the Trainee Art Teacher year
- 2:1 minimum degree in Art, Fine Art, Graphic Design or a related subject
- Strong A Level results in Art or a creative subject
- Genuine interest in training as a teacher
- Resilient, professional and able to manage challenging behaviour positively
- Strong communication skills and a calm approach in the classroom
- Previous experience working with young people is beneficial but not essential
