Are you a passionate English graduate looking for an exciting opportunity to work in a prestigious academic school?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Graduate - Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team at a renowned secondary school in West London. This role offers a unique combination of supporting students' learning in English and occasional cover supervising within the English department.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students, focusing on improving their reading, writing, and communication skills, specifically with students who also have additional learning needs.
  • Collaborate with English teachers to deliver engaging and interactive lessons, catering to the individual needs of students.
  • Assist students in developing their understanding and interpretation of literary texts, poetry, and plays.
  • Guide students in honing their writing skills, including essay writing, creative writing, and analytical responses.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting student engagement and participation.
  • Contribute to the school's extracurricular activities related to English, such as literary clubs, debating societies, or drama productions.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in English or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of the English language.
  • Enthusiasm for working with young people and supporting their educational and personal development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Subject to satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS check
