Under the guidance of the Instructional Design and Content Development Manager, design and develop accessible, engaging and high-quality digital learning resources for global audiences, for use across online, blended and face-to-face learning environments. Apply accessibility, inclusive design and adult learning principles to support the continuous improvement of WSET courses through the ADDIE methodology.
Contribute to the effective integration of classroom, online and blended learning approaches across WSET programmes. Work collaboratively with third-party providers where required, helping to ensure externally developed content meets WSET standards for quality, accessibility and learner experience.
Maintain a good working knowledge of developments in WSET’s Learning Management System (Canvas) and content authoring tools such as genially and Articulate 360, and contribute to a community of practice within the Product department, sharing knowledge and supporting continuous improvement in learning design and delivery.
Key duties and responsibilities:Analysis (A):
- Apply needs analysis techniques to identify learner requirements and learning objectives, with consideration for accessibility and inclusive practice.
- Collaborate with Research & Development teams to gather information that supports curriculum and course design.
- Work with Project management to support the timely planning and delivery of instructional content.
- Use learner personas and other available learner insight to inform course content and delivery approaches.
- Contribute to project planning and scoping for learning design work, in line with agreed priorities and objectives.
- Keep up to date with developments and good practice in digital, blended, synchronous and asynchronous learning
- Participate in relevant professional learning opportunities and share insight with colleagues where appropriate.
- Apply instructional design, accessibility and inclusive design principles when creating course components for a range of learning environments.
- Work collaboratively with the Educational Development and Qualifications teams to ensure content for face-to-face, online and virtual delivery accurately reflects curriculum and assessment requirements.
