A friendly and supportive primary school in Elephant and Castle is seeking a committed Graduate Teaching Assistant to become part of their KS1 team for the 2026/27 academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who wants to experience life in a primary school, work alongside experienced teachers and develop the practical skills needed for a successful career in education.

About The Position
  • Providing support during KS1 lessons and classroom activities
  • Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning
  • Helping children build their confidence across literacy, numeracy and communication
  • Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom resources and everyday routines
  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupils to engage with their learning
  • Supporting the wider classroom environment and contributing to pupils progress

The role will give you valuable first:hand experience of teaching and learning across the primary setting, making it particularly suited to graduates considering teacher training.

The Ideal Candidate The School Is Looking For Someone Who Can Demonstrate
  • A UK:recognised degree : essential
  • Previous experience working with children, whether through schools, tutoring, childcare, coaching, mentoring or a similar setting
  • A clear interest in pursuing a career within teaching or education
  • Strong communication and relationship:building skills
  • Enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude
  • A genuine interest in helping children learn, develop and succeed
