We are seeking a skilled and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in Sutton, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a range of learning difficulties.

You will deliver highly structured, personalised learning tailored to each child’s communication style, sensory needs, and developmental stage—helping them build independence, confidence, and essential life skills.

• A specialist ASD environment with a strong focus on routine, structure, and consistency
• Access to excellent resources, including sensory spaces and communication tools (e.g. PECS, visual timetables)
• Work alongside a highly trained team of TAs, therapists, and SEN specialists

• Plan and deliver structured, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with ASD and learning needs
• Implement strategies such as visual supports, TEACCH approaches, and communication systems
• Support pupils with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory needs
• Monitor progress in both academic and life skills development
• Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals (e.g. SALT, OT)
• Create a calm, predictable, and nurturing classroom environment

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience working with pupils with ASD and/or learning difficulties
• Understanding of autism-specific strategies and approaches
• A patient, resilient, and nurturing teaching style
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Based in or within commuting distance of Sutton

• £37,000 – £56,000 (Outer London Pay Scale)
