  • Teaching pupils on a1:1, small-group and whole-class basis

What We're Looking For

We are looking for teachers who genuinely want to work within Special Educational Needs education and understand that every pupil's progress and achievements will look different.

Ideal Candidate
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification
  • Have previous teaching experience within an SEN, specialist or mainstream environment
  • Have experience or a strong understanding of ASD, SLD, PMLD, MLD or complex needs
  • Be confident differentiating lessons to meet individual learning levels
  • Have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Be patient, resilient, creative and adaptable
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be comfortable leading and directing classroom support staff
  • Understand the importance of safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
  • Be passionate about helping children and young people achieve their individual potential
  • Previous SEN teaching experience is highly desirable; however, we are also interested in speaking with qualified mainstream teachers looking to transition into specialist education.
Why SEN Teaching?

Working within an SEN school gives you the opportunity to celebrate achievements that can have a profound impact on a young person's life.

For one pupil, progress might mean completing an academic task independently. For another, it could be communicating a choice, developing a new life skill, regulating their emotions, engaging with a sensory activity or becoming more independent with their daily routines.

You’ll work alongside dedicated support staff and other professionals to provide each pupil with an education tailored around their individual needs, abilities and aspirations.

Opportunities are available across:

Long-Term | Temporary | Temporary-to-Permanent | Full-Time

As an agency worker, you are paid for the days you work and will therefore not paid during school holidays.
