We are seeking to appoint a full time Lecturer to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills English within our cross-College provision, primarily to vocational learners aged 16-18. This is a rewarding area of the College, and you would play a key role in supporting our vocational learners with their development and to help them progress onto higher courses or the workplace.
You will preferably possess a degree or equivalent in English or a related subject area (or a Level 3 qualification plus proven successful experience of teaching English/Literacy/ESOL/EFL for at least 2 years). You will have experience of teaching/tutoring GCSE, Functional Skills English, ESOL, EFL or literacy, and have the ability to engage and enthuse 16- to 18-year-olds from a variety of vocational disciplines.
You will either possess a Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector, or be willing to undertake teacher training, supported by the College. The postholder will teach one evening per week (Thursdays) until 9.00pm.
