Start Date:

01 September 2026 Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary is applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to M6.

About the Role

Teach Now is seeking an ambitious and creative Head of Music to lead a thriving department in a well-regarded secondary school in Hillingdon, rated Good by Ofsted. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Music teacher ready to step into leadership or an experienced Head of Department looking for a fresh challenge. You will take full ownership of the Music provision across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, driving high standards in teaching and learning while developing a rich and inspiring curriculum.

The role offers the chance to expand extracurricular opportunities, including performances, concerts, and enrichment programmes, helping to build a strong culture of creativity and musical excellence across the school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Music department, ensuring high-quality teaching and outcomes
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3–KS5
  • Design and implement an inspiring and inclusive Music curriculum
  • Organise and lead concerts, performances, and enrichment activities
  • Monitor student progress and drive continuous improvement
  • Contribute to whole-school initiatives and the wider school community
Requirements
  • QTS with a specialism in Music
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding teaching across KS3–KS5
  • Leadership experience or readiness to step into a leadership role
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for Music education
  • Commitment to raising achievement and promoting creativity
  • A collaborative, proactive, and innovative approach
