The school is seeking a scholarly, engaging, and dedicated Sociology Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons primarily across KS4 and KS5
. Sociology is a flagship subject at this school, attracting a large and diverse cohort of students who are eager to develop their "sociological imagination" and challenge traditional perspectives on power and identity.
You will have the opportunity to teach a rigorous curriculum (typically AQA), covering core themes such as Education, Families and Households, Crime and Deviance, and Beliefs in Society
. You will contribute to a dynamic department that values academic inquiry, supporting students to develop the high-level evaluative and essay-writing skills required for success at A-Level and beyond.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A strong degree in Sociology or a related Social Science
- Proven experience teaching Sociology at A-Level (GCSE experience is also desirable)
- A deep understanding of sociological theory (Marxism, Feminism, Functionalism, Postmodernism) and research methodology
- Ability to inspire students through the analysis of current affairs and social policy
