The Faculty of Foundation Studies is Arden University’s academic gateway into higher education, supporting students from admission and induction through to achievement, progression and future success. Bringing together Foundation Year, Foundation Degree, new‐student induction and academic admissions activity, the Faculty provides accessible and inclusive pathways for students from a wide range of educational, personal and professional backgrounds.

This is an exciting time to join the Faculty as we develop discipline‑aligned Foundation Year routes, expand our Foundation Degree portfolio and embed employability, enterprise and responsible use of AI across the student experience.

We are currently looking for a team of Lecturers to join our faculty to teach on our Applied Technology (Computing) Foundation Year which is set to grow and may include Engineering/Cybersecurity and Data programmes in the near future. This will include 16 hours of teaching (4 groups), academic support including office hours and tutorials and facilitating the cover rota in campus.

You will be expected to go to campus 3-4 days a week to suit the student timetable.

Responsibilities within our academic programmes include:

• Deliver engaging and dynamic lectures both face‑to‑face and online for our blended and distance learning students.
• Take on module leadership, ensuring consistent quality and development of learning materials and schemes of work.
• Oversee assessment marking, create authentic assessments, and provide high‑quality feedback.
• Lead or support the creation of new programmes and refresh existing ones to align with industry trends and employer requirements.
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide academic advice and support to students.
• Drive innovation in teaching methods, student support, and assessment
• Assist with student orientation weeks (online) and face to face in campus
• Support students with their assessments including 1‑1s, group tutorials and scaffolded assessment feedback sessions
• Assist students through providing reminders and tracking those who are at risk of non‑submission via phone calls, online 1‑1 tutorials and face to face assessment tutorials
• Work closely to develop our assessment and resit clinics
• Develop/create interactive videos, podcasts and activities that could be shared on our VLE and in‑class activities
• Act as a Personal Academic Coach (PAC), supporting students' engagement, progression and academic success.
