The Opportunity

We are partnering with a welcoming Further Education college to find a passionate Learning Support Assistant to deliver targeted 1:1 support for a student studying Level 3 Media. This is a uniquely rewarding opportunity to blend your subject expertise in media or journalism with direct educational support, helping a student overcome barriers to learning and achieve their qualifications.

About the Setting

The setting is a dynamic Further Education environment in Bromley that provides tailored learning pathways and comprehensive inclusion services for young adults. The campus features modern facilities designed to foster independence, accessibility, and personal growth for learners with diverse educational needs.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 educational, technical, and accessibility support to a student taking a Level 3 Media programme.
  • Assist the learner in understanding course content, managing deadlines, and using specialist media equipment or assistive technology.
  • Support the student's personal development, social skills, and self-advocacy in line with their target outcomes.
  • Assist with personal care, mobility, safety, and general well-being as required within the college environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and the learning inclusion team to monitor progress and adapt support strategies.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualifications:

    A recognised qualification or degree in Media, Journalism, or a closely related subject is essential. Minimum Level 2 in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Characteristics:
    Strong communication skills, empathy, adaptability, and an enthusiastic approach to supporting independent learning.
  • Transport/Commute:
    Ability to reliably commute to the college campus in Bromley.

Safeguarding & Compliance

All applicants must hold an Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or be willing to undergo one), provide a complete work history with all gaps accounted for, and possess the legal right to work in the UK.
