Curriculum Manager – Counselling
Location: London – Multisite
Salary: £55,684 – £59,065 per annum
Contract: Temporary, 35 hours per week
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Curriculum Manager – Counselling to join a leading Further Education college in London.
This is an exciting opportunity to take a key leadership role within a newly established School of Counselling
, which has grown significantly and is continuing to develop its provision across Counselling and Mental Health.
As Curriculum Manager, you will be responsible for the leadership, management and development of the Counselling curriculum
, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and assessment across multiple college sites.
You will lead and support a team of lecturers, drive quality improvement and ensure strong outcomes and experiences for learners.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, managing and developing the Counselling and Mental Health curriculum across multiple sites.
- Line managing, supporting and developing lecturing staff.
- Maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
- Leading quality assurance processes, including lesson and tutorial observations, self-assessment and quality improvement planning.
- Monitoring and improving recruitment, retention and learner achievement
. - Ensuring effective learner progress tracking, reviews and support systems are in place.
- Developing the curriculum offer and contributing to the wider Counselling and Mental Health strategy.
- Ensuring effective curriculum planning, including schemes of work and lesson planning.
- Managing staffing, financial and physical resources effectively.
- Working with internal teams and external partners to support the development of the provision.
- Contributing to wider curriculum and campus management activities.
- Undertaking a small amount of teaching/cover, up to 5 hours per week when required
.
The successful candidate will have strong experience within Further Education curriculum leadership
, with a background relevant to Counselling, Mental Health or a closely related area.
- A relevant first degree and/or professional qualification in a relevant subject area.
- A full teaching qualification is required
. - Experience of directly co-ordinating or managing curriculum delivery, including the leadership and development of staff.
- Experience of leading teams and/or managing teaching staff.
- Experience of curriculum planning, ideally across FE and/or HE provision
. - Strong understanding of quality assurance, learner progress and achievement.
- Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyse performance, implement change and drive continuous improvement.
- A strong commitment to learner success and high-quality teaching and learning.
This role would suit an experienced Curriculum Manager, Programme Manager, Course Leader or senior FE Lecturer with curriculum leadership experience who is looking for a fixed-term maternity cover opportunity.
