Economics Teacher – Hillingdon – September 2026

A forward-thinking, high-achieving secondary school with sixth form in Hillingdon is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Economics Teacher to join their thriving Social Sciences faculty from September 2026. This is a contractual Economics Teacher role based on a term-time basis.

This Hillingdon secondary school and sixth form deliver an Economics curriculum that is both academically rigorous and genuinely relevant, with strong GCSE and A-Level outcomes and a sixth form cohort that regularly progresses to Economics, Finance, and Politics degrees at competitive universities. Teaching is evidence-based and intellectually demanding, with current affairs, real-world case studies, and economic theory woven deliberately into every scheme of work.

As an Economics Teacher
, you will deliver engaging, knowledge-rich lessons across KS4 and KS5, using current economic events and real-world data to bring theory to life. You will track and drive pupil progress through assessment, contribute to A-Level delivery and university preparation, and build strong, productive relationships with students, families, and colleagues throughout the year.

This Economics Teacher position will suit candidates who:

• Hold British QTS or are completing a UK-accredited teacher training programme
• Graduated with a 2:1 or above in Economics or a closely related discipline from a reputable UK university, ideally Russell Group
• Have meaningful classroom experience within a UK secondary school through placements or a substantive post
• Show clear evidence of structured lesson delivery and strong pupil outcomes at KS4 and above
• Are legally entitled to work in the UK - visa sponsorship is not available

ECT applicants are welcomed provided formal UK teacher training has been completed.

This is a term-time contractual role equivalent to the Outer London pay scale. Salaries range from £39,000 - £45,000 dependant on experience.
