Full-Time, Permanent The Department of Computing, Security and Mathematics at Royal Holloway, University of London is looking to appoint a lecturer in Computer Science to support its research and teaching.

The Department has a record of outstanding research and was ranked 17th overall among UK computer science and informatics departments in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (, Times Higher Education ranking). We have very strong research groups in the areas of Intelligent Systems, Machine Learning, Algorithms and Complexity, and Programming Languages and Systems. We have also made appointments in Quantum Computing and Software Engineering, and there are strong collaborations between Computer Science and the Information Security Group.

The Department is committed to delivering outstanding teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and consistently achieves excellent results in Computer Science graduate prospects metrics (93% graduates in graduate-level employment or further study within 15 months, Guardian ranking for 2025). Our software engineering teaching has been hailed as a ‘best practice’ example by the BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT.We are seeking to appoint a lecturer in Computer Science and welcome applications that would complement and/or strengthen our existing areas of research.

Applicants should have high quality publications and the potential to attract significant research funding. Applicants should be able to demonstrate excellence in the delivery of undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching, and in the supervision of both undergraduate and postgraduate project work. The post holder will be expected to contribute strongly to the development of research impact, and the successful applicant will have, or have the potential to have, a strong track record in this  addition to the opportunities within the Department, the post holder will have the opportunity to play a full role in the growth of research within the Faculty of Science, and across the University more generally.
