Position: SEND Learning Support Assistant Full Time Temporary
Location: Greater London

Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Secondary SEND School

Location: Charlton, Royal Borough of Greenwich
Pay: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, term-time only

Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant looking for your next rewarding role in SEND education?

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Secondary SEND school in Charlton, Greenwich
, seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to support students aged 11–19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and complex medical needs
.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assist students in accessing a personalised curriculum.
  • Promote independence, communication, and social development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Support students with personal care and medical needs where required (training can be provided).
  • Help create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within a school setting
    .
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) or Level 2 qualifications in both Maths and English.

Alternatively, applicants will also be considered if they have either:

  • A recognised qualification or completed training in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) support
    , or
  • A degree-level qualification
    .
