SEN Teaching Assistant role in Greenwich - Secondary

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex needs, helping them access learning while also supporting their emotional wellbeing and development.

Key Responsibilities - SEN Teaching Assistant, Greenwich

Provide consistent 1:1 and in-class support for pupils with ASD and additional needs.
Support pupils with complex needs in accessing the curriculum and participating in school life.
Implement tailored strategies to support learning, behaviour, communication, and emotional regulation.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt lesson materials and activities.
Build strong, trusting, and professional relationships with pupils.
Create a positive, inclusive, calm, and safe learning environment.
Support pupils' academic progress and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.
Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social development.

The Ideal Candidate for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant in Greenwich

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is essential.
Experience supporting pupils with complex needs and/or ASD.
Strong background in 1:1 and small-group support.
Experience working in a school, specialist setting, or similar educational environment.
Calm, patient, nurturing, and consistent approach.
Confident supporting behaviour and emotional regulation.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, adaptable, proactive, and committed to providing high-quality support.
