Are you an experienced Nursery Teaching Assistant with a strong background in SEND?
A welcoming primary school in Haringey is strengthening its Early Years team following the arrival of children with autism and profound or complex additional needs. The school is seeking a calm, proactive and hands‑on Nursery Teaching Assistant – SEND who can provide consistent, individualized support throughout the nursery day.
This is a rewarding opportunity to build strong relationships with children at the beginning of their education and help them feel safe, included and ready to learn.
The Role- Support children with autism and complex or profound SEND.
- Help children settle into nursery and establish consistent routines.
- Encourage communication, interaction and engagement through play.
- Adapt activities to each child's developmental level and individual needs.
- Support emotional and sensory regulation.
- Provide close supervision and respond proactively to childrens needs.
- Assist with personal and intimate care when required.
- Follow individual support strategies and contribute observations on progress.
- Work closely with the Nursery Teacher, SENCO and wider Early Years team.
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND.
- Nursery or Early Years experience.
- Experience supporting autism and more complex needs.
- Confidence providing personal and intimate care.
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach.
- The initiative to recognise and respond to a child's needs without always waiting for direction.
- Reliability, resilience and strong teamwork skills.
- A genuine commitment to helping children develop confidence and independence.
- A welcoming and inclusive Early Years environment.
- Support from an experienced Nursery Teacher, SENCO and wider staff team.

The school has an immediate requirement for one Nursery Teaching Assistant – SEND, with a second position expected to become available shortly. Trial opportunities are available on Thursday and Friday.
