AE Tuition is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our successful teaching team in Langley or Feltham.
For more than 30 years, we have helped pupils develop the knowledge, confidence and independent learning skills needed to succeed in entrance examinations and throughout their education.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher seeking rewarding weekend work alongside an existing teaching position, or someone looking for a different working pattern outside mainstream school hours.
The English Teacher- Role
You will teach English to pupils studying at Key Stage 3 and preparing for our 11+ and Scholarship programmes.
Working with AE Tuitions established teaching materials and methodology, you will help pupils strengthen their English skills and achieve consistently high academic standards.
English Teacher- Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging and well-structured English lessons
- Teaching areas including comprehension, grammar, punctuation, spelling, vocabulary and creative writing
- Supporting pupils preparing for 11+, scholarship and independent school entrance examinations
- Monitoring pupil progress and identifying areas requiring additional support
- Providing clear, constructive feedback and encouragement
- Working closely with supervisors, classroom assistants and the wider tuition-centre team
- Following AE Tuitions established programmes, teaching methods and safeguarding procedures
We would like to hear from English teachers who have:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status and relevant classroom experience
- Strong English subject knowledge, ideally at secondary or Key Stage 3 level
- The confidence to motivate academically ambitious pupils
- Excellent communication and classroom-management skills
- A patient, positive and encouraging teaching style
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence supporting pupils with mathematics at the required course level
- Availability to teach regularly at weekends
Experience of teaching 11+, scholarship or independent school entrance preparation would be helpful, but it is not essential where strong transferable teaching experience can be demonstrated.
