About the school

Following its most recent Ofsted inspection in November 2025 under the revised national framework, London Design & Engineering UTC was awarded five Exceptional judgements, the highest possible recognition. The school is one of the first in the country to be inspected under this new approach.

London Design & Engineering University Technical College is an oversubscribed technical skills provision that opened in 2016. In January 2019 the school moved into a purpose-built facility on the Royal Docks. Specialisms include engineering, civil engineering and computing and digital. Courses cover the built environment, systems and control, engineering design and digital subjects including virtual reality, augmented reality and computing.

The college was established by Thames Water, Costain, Skanska, LEGO, Thames Tideway Tunnel and the University of East London to provide learners with pathways to university, higher degree apprenticeships or direct employment. Learners follow a STEM-rich curriculum from age 13, with access to industry-standard facilities and equipment. Provision includes GCSEs, A Levels, technical Level 3 courses and apprenticeships from Level 2 to Level 8.

London Design & Engineering UTC seeks a Marketing Assistant to support the Marketing and Communications function at LDE UTC and TEST Trust. The post is fixed-term for 18 months, full-time at 37 hours per week, on salary scale S2 (£29,805). The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Strategic Partnerships, Marketing & Communications and will gain hands-on experience of marketing in an educational setting.

The role involves supporting the planning and delivery of marketing activity across the organisation, with responsibility for content creation and campaign delivery. Over time the post-holder will develop an understanding of audiences, channels and performance, contributing to campaign planning and marketing decision-making. As confidence grows, increasing responsibility will be taken across campaign delivery, channel management and performance analysis.
