Project Tutor – Motorcycle Mechanics

Hours:

35 hours per week A specialist alternative education and vocational training organisation is looking for an experienced Motorcycle Mechanics Tutor to deliver practical, accredited training to young people aged 11–18. This is an opportunity for someone who combines strong hands-on motorcycle knowledge with a genuine passion for working with young people , particularly those who may have struggled in mainstream education or require additional support.

The Role You will deliver OCN-accredited motorcycle mechanics training , covering areas including:
Basic servicing and engine maintenance Motorcycle electrics and fault-finding Safety checks and workshop practice Customisation and practical projects Developing employability and life skills alongside technical skills Assessing learners and maintaining accurate portfolio evidence Supporting young people towards recognised qualifications and future employment You will also provide 1:1 and small-group support , adapting practical activities and teaching methods for learners with SEN and different learning needs.

We're Looking For Strong motorcycle mechanics knowledge and hands-on experience Experience engaging and motivating young people Experience working with SEN, disadvantaged or vulnerable learners is desirable Patient, approachable and confident building positive relationships Able to manage behaviour and maintain clear boundaries Practical, creative and solution-focused Strong commitment to safeguarding and young people's wellbeing This is more than a mechanics role — it's an opportunity to use your practical skills to help young people develop confidence, gain recognised qualifications and build a pathway towards further education, training or employment.
