English Tutor

This is a part-time, on-site English Secondary School Tutor role based in Chelsea. Must be available Tuesdays 4.30pm-6.30pm.

The tutor will provide small-group instruction (maximum 6 students) in English, supporting learners in core concepts and exam preparation.

Tasks include planning and delivering engaging lessons and using Progressay’s platform to guide students’ writing and critical thinking skills.

The tutor will assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.

Additional responsibilities may include maintaining lesson records, communicating with learners and guardians about progress, and collaborating with the wider team to improve learning resources.

• Strong subject knowledge and teaching ability in English G.C.S.E and A Level.
• Demonstrated experience in Tutoring with a learner-centered approach.
• Excellent Communication skills, including clear explanation of concepts and active listening.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, English is preferred.
• Experience working with secondary school-age learners in a classroom or tutoring environment.
• Ability to tailor instruction to different learning styles and levels of proficiency.
• Comfort with using digital tools and educational technology platforms.
• Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a commitment to equitable, inclusive education.
